Nine months to gather the three belts
In 1986 the world heavyweight title was split between three bodies. Tyson took the WBC from Trevor Berbick on 22 November. On 7 March 1987 he added the WBA, beating James Smith on points over twelve rounds. On 1 August 1987 he beat Tony Tucker and took the IBF.
Nine months, three fights: at 21 he was undisputed champion, the first man since Leon Spinks in 1978 to hold all three at once. No heavyweight has covered that ground as quickly since. Those are the three belts in this photograph.
What you see
Portrait format, dark graded ground. Tyson is framed from the thighs up, arms folded across his chest, bare chested, looking straight to camera. At his waist, three championship belts stacked one over another, gold plates and coloured leathers, fill the width of the frame; red gloves hang at his sides.
At the top of the image, a signature reproduced in white. From 3 m / 10 ft you read a torso and a mass of gold; from 1 m / 3 ft the crest of each sanctioning body can be made out.

Worth knowing: this is one of the few pieces in the collection offered with the wooden frame already fitted — the canvas arrives stretched and ready to hang, with nothing to buy or assemble. The 13 × 18 cm / 5 × 7 in size also makes it the easiest Tyson canvas to give as a present.
Twelve sizes, nine of them ready framed
Nine of the twelve sizes exist in a ready framed version: the canvas arrives stretched on its wooden frame. The other three — 20 × 30, 90 × 130 and 100 × 150 cm / 8 × 12, 35 × 51 and 39 × 59 in — ship rolled in a tube. The 13 × 18 cm / 5 × 7 in stands on a shelf or a desk. The size chart by wall type covers the other placements room by room.

Frequently asked questions
Which belts is Mike Tyson wearing?
The WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles, the three that made up the undisputed championship in the late 1980s. He collected them between November 1986 and August 1987, from Trevor Berbick, James Smith and Tony Tucker.
Is the frame included?
On 9 of the 12 sizes, yes: the ready framed option ships the canvas stretched on its wooden frame. The 20 × 30, 90 × 130 and 100 × 150 cm sizes ship rolled in a tube; for those, frames are sold separately: wooden frame up to 100 cm / 39 in per side, XXL wooden frame from 110 to 200 cm / 43 to 79 in, or aluminium frame in 8 finishes.
What size canvas should I hang above a sofa?
The working rule is about two thirds of the width of the furniture below it, centred 145 cm / 57 in from the floor. Over a 200 cm / 79 in three-seater, that means 80 × 120 cm / 31 × 47 in; over a two-seater, 60 × 90 cm / 24 × 35 in; in a hallway, 30 × 45 cm / 12 × 18 in. The full size chart by wall type is on the Ali vs Liston 1965 page.
What is the smallest size available?
13 × 18 cm / 5 × 7 in, offered ready framed — small enough for a shelf, a desk or a bedside table rather than a wall.
Is the signature genuine?
No, it is reproduced as part of the printed image, not signed by hand. It is a graphic element of the artwork, printed with the same pigment inks as the rest of the canvas, so it will not smudge or fade separately.
How do I clean a canvas print?
A dry microfibre cloth handles almost everything. For a mark that stays, use a barely damp cloth with no detergent, wiping across the surface. No abrasive sponge, no glass cleaner.
