The essentials: a wooden stretcher frame to assemble yourself and mount a canvas that ships rolled. Height and width are chosen separately, each from 20 to 100 cm / 8 to 39 in. 2.5 cm / 1 in thick, instructions included. From €12 to €38 depending on size, free standard shipping.
Why canvases travel rolled
A printed canvas shipped already mounted takes a box in proportion to its surface: an 80 × 120 cm / 31 × 47 in piece needs a rigid parcel over a metre long, and it handles badly — the corners of the frame mark the canvas at the slightest knock.
Rolled in a protective tube, the same canvas fits a parcel about 10 cm / 4 in across, is safe from corners and compression, and travels with no risk of creasing. That is why the whole print-on-canvas market ships rolled and sells the frame separately. Assembly then takes a few minutes with no tools: the four bars slot together, the canvas folds over the edge and is fixed. The kit contains everything needed.
What the kit contains
Four grooved wooden bars, cut to the size ordered, joining at the corners with no screws and no glue. Four reinforcing corner braces in board lock each angle. Add the wall fixings and an illustrated instruction sheet.
The wood comes from sustainably managed forests. The assembled frame is 2.5 cm / 1 in thick, which lifts the canvas slightly off the wall without making a pronounced relief.

Worth knowing: order the exact height and width of your canvas, with no margin added: the edges of the canvas fold over the edge of the frame. For a canvas with a side over 100 cm / 39 in, you need the XXL wooden frame.
Choosing the right size
The frame is ordered at the exact size of the canvas, height and width separately. A 60 × 90 cm / 24 × 35 in canvas therefore needs a height of 90 cm / 35 in and a width of 60 cm / 24 in. No margin to add. The size chart by wall type helps you choose the canvas size in the first place.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the canvas ship without a frame?
Because a canvas mounted on a frame travels badly and takes a large rigid box, while rolled in a protective tube the same canvas ships safely in a parcel about 10 cm / 4 in across. The whole print-on-canvas market ships rolled and sells the frame separately.
What frame size should I order?
The exact height and width of the canvas, with no margin. A 50 × 70 cm / 20 × 28 in canvas takes a 70 cm / 28 in height and a 50 cm / 20 in width. The edges of the canvas fold over the edge of the frame.
Does assembly need tools?
No. The four bars slot together at the corners, the braces lock each angle, and the canvas folds over the edge. It takes a few minutes and the illustrated instructions are included.
What if my canvas is bigger than 100 cm?
Use the XXL wooden frame, which covers heights of 110 to 200 cm / 43 to 79 in and widths of 30 to 100 cm / 12 to 39 in, with a crossbar and corner braces to stop a long frame twisting.
Is the wood treated?
The bars come from sustainably managed forests, planed and grooved, with no varnish or stain: the frame sits behind the canvas and is not meant to be seen. Wipe dry only.
How do I clean the frame?
A dry microfibre cloth handles almost everything. On the aluminium, a barely damp cloth with no detergent; on the wood, dry only. No abrasive sponge, no glass cleaner.
