This is the part everything rests on, literally. A 40 kg / 88 lb bag in motion transmits forces to the ceiling well above its static weight: every strike creates a jolt, and it is those repeated jolts that make cheap fixings let go. Hence the SUS 304 stainless and the two-point plate.
Wood or concrete: the fixings for both are supplied
This is what separates this set from most hooks sold on their own. You get both sets of fixings:
- 2 self-tapping screws for fitting into a wooden beam.
- 2 expansion anchors for fitting into a concrete slab or beam.
No need to know in advance what you will hit, and no trip back to the hardware shop once the ceiling has been probed. The plate is pre-drilled with two 5/16" holes, ready to fit.
Which hook to choose
All five hooks share the same stainless plate and the same fixings. What separates them is the freedom of movement they leave the bag.

Our advice: if you work your footwork and move around the bag, take a 360° model. On a 180° hook the strap builds up twist and the bag has to be unwound by hand from time to time. The pin version adds the convenience of taking the bag down in ten seconds.
The shock-absorbing spring
Sold here as an option, the spring does not replace the hook: it sits between the two. Its job is to absorb the peak load at the moment of impact, which spares the anchor and reduces the vibration passed into the structure — and so to the neighbours upstairs.
It is the accessory to add if you hit heavy, or if you are in a flat.

What determines the load is the support. The 500 kg / 1102 lb quoted applies to the part itself: the load your ceiling will actually take depends on its construction and on the quality of the anchoring. If you are unsure what your ceiling is made of, a professional settles it in one visit. Check the tightness after the first sessions, then periodically: vibration works on joints.

180° or 360°, which should I choose?
360° if you move around the bag: the swivel lets it turn on itself and the strap never builds up twist. 180° if the bag stays on one axis — simpler and more direct.
What is the pin version for?
It adds a removable shackle: the bag comes down in about ten seconds, without tools. Useful in a shared room where the bag cannot stay up.
Why SUS 304 stainless?
For corrosion resistance. A fixing lives in a room where people sweat, sometimes a garage or a cellar, and it stays in place for years under repeated jolts. Stainless does not pit, and a pitted fixing is one you cannot inspect properly.
What if my ceiling is not suitable?
Two answers with no drilling into a ceiling: straps around a beam or a branch, and a free standing frame that stands on the floor.
