Punching bag straps

- Regular price€14,00

The essentials: a pair of polyester straps that wrap around a beam or a tree branch to hang a punching bag — without drilling anything. Metal rings at the ends, 2.8 cm / 1.1 in wide, rated up to 300 kg / 661 lb. Five lengths: 24, 34, 44, 54 and 64 cm / 9.4, 13.4, 17.3, 21.3 and 25.2 in. On and off in a minute. €14, free standard shipping.
This fixing needs no drilling, no fixings and no tools. You pass the strap around the support, feed the end through the rings and pull: the knot tightens on itself under the weight of the bag. And it comes off again in five seconds.
The answer when drilling is not an option
- In a rental, where you do not touch the structure.
- On an exposed beam, without marking the timber with a permanent coach screw.
- Outdoors, around a sound tree branch or a garden frame.
- On the move: garage, cellar, training camp, second home. The straps fit in a kit bag.
It leaves no trace on the support, which makes it the tenant's answer and the one for training outdoors.
Which length to choose
The strap has to go all the way round the support, plus the length needed to feed back through the rings. The method: measure the girth of your beam or branch, then add ten centimetres / four inches of margin.
| Length | Suggested support girth | Example |
|---|---|---|
| 24 cm / 9.4 in | Up to about 15 cm / 6 in | Pull-up bar, thin tube |
| 34 cm / 13.4 in | Up to about 25 cm / 10 in | Thin joist, thick bar |
| 44 cm / 17.3 in | Up to about 35 cm / 14 in | Beam of roughly 8 x 8 cm / 3 x 3 in |
| 54 cm / 21.3 in | Up to about 45 cm / 18 in | Beam of roughly 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 in |
| 64 cm / 25.2 in | Up to about 55 cm / 22 in | Large beam, tree branch |
If in doubt, go longer. A strap that is too long is dealt with by taking an extra turn around the support. A strap that is too short simply will not close.

What determines the load is the support. The 300 kg / 661 lb quoted applies to the strap: it is your beam or your branch that sets the load actually available. On a tree branch, aim for a living, sound section of good diameter, as close to the trunk as possible. Check the strap before every session: stitching, fraying, points of friction.

Frequently asked questions
Can a punching bag really be hung without drilling?
Yes, on a support you can wrap: a beam, a joist, a bar or a tree branch. The strap goes round, the end feeds through the rings, and the knot tightens on itself under the weight of the bag. Nothing is screwed and nothing is marked.
Which length should I take?
Measure the girth of the support and add about ten centimetres / four inches. The table above matches each length to a girth. If in doubt, go longer: surplus is dealt with by an extra turn, whereas a short strap will not close at all.
Are they suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, that is one of their uses. On a tree branch, choose a living, sound section of good diameter, as close to the trunk as possible. Bring the straps in after use rather than leaving them out season after season.
What load do they take?
300 kg / 661 lb for the strap itself. The real limit is your beam or your branch, which is what has to carry the bag in motion.
Are they sold singly or in pairs?
In a pair, since a bag hangs from two points. The five lengths are available on the same page, and the price is the same whichever you choose.
How do you check they are still safe?
Look at them before each session: stitching, fraying and the points of friction where the strap passes over the support. Polyester gives plenty of warning — a strap starts to fray well before it gives.
