The Gold Edition takes the real leather build of the Esprit Boxe focus mitts and dresses it in a metallic gold finish, outlines the edges with black piping and adds a central target that genuinely changes how you work on precision.
The central target: the detail that builds accuracy
A black disc sits at the centre of the striking face, in strong contrast against the gold. The boxer no longer aims at "the mitt" but at a precise point. On jab and cross work, that visual reference naturally corrects the alignment of the fist and lets the coach see at a glance where the impact actually landed. It is the main functional difference from the black model, whose striking face is plain.
Metallic gold finish
The real leather carries a metallic gold finish across the whole mitt. The edges are outlined with black piping, the Esprit Boxe mark and the For the Glory line appear in black on the back of the hand, and the edge carries the ESPRIT marking framed by black stars. Kit that is spotted instantly across a gym, and that reads particularly well on session video.
High density padding and shock absorption
Inside sits a high density moulding delivering strong shock absorption. The wave of the punch is damped before it reaches the coach's hand and joint: fewer vibrations, less strain on elbows and shoulders by the end of the session, and honest feedback for the boxer.
Grip and comfort
The gusset follows the shape of the hand for a comfortable, stable grip, completed by finger loops and a tightening strap at the back that pulls the mitt against the hand. The mesh lining moves sweat away over long sessions, and the leather stands up to the repeated friction of gloves.

Getting the most out of pad work
- Use the target: ask the boxer to hit the central disc, not simply the mitt. The gain in precision is measurable within a few sessions.
- Short combinations: 3 to 5 shots (jab, cross, hook) beat long, loose series.
- Locked wrist: present the mitt and meet the punch slightly rather than striking back against the fist.
- Simulated counters: send a mitt back towards the boxer to make them keep their guard up and slip.
Also at Esprit Boxe

- The whole focus mitts collection.
Frequently asked questions
How do they differ from the black Esprit Boxe focus mitts?
The build and the price are the same: real leather, high density moulding, mesh lining. Two differences: the Gold Edition uses a metallic gold finish with black piping, and its striking face carries a round black central target where the black model has a plain face. Choose the Gold Edition if you want a visual marker for precision work.
What is the central target for?
It gives the boxer a precise point to aim at rather than a surface. On the jab and the cross, that marker corrects the alignment of the fist and lets the coach see immediately where the impact landed. A simple, effective teaching tool, particularly useful with beginners.
Are they sold singly or as a pair?
As a pair: you receive 2 pieces, one for each hand, with free standard delivery.
How do you keep the gold finish crisp?
The finish sits on real leather, which stands up to the repeated friction of gloves. A dry wipe after each session and drying at room temperature are enough to keep it clean. The patina that appears on the impact area over the seasons is purely on the surface: absorption and the hold of the mitt are unchanged.
What is the difference between focus mitts and Thai pads?
Focus mitts are small and held in the hand: they serve punch work, precision and speed. Thai pads are longer and thicker, strap onto the forearm and absorb the kicks and knees of muay thai and MMA. Many clubs own both.
How do you look after them?
Wipe the leather with a dry cloth after each session, air the inside and let it dry at room temperature. Avoid the washing machine, soaking and direct heat, which harden and crack leather.
