In short: HIT HARD set very large across the thigh, in capitals, with no scrollwork and no ornament at all. The most typographic short in the Thai range, in 3 colourways. 8 sizes, XS to 4XL. €29.
Lettering, the other tradition of the fight short
Two schools sit side by side in Muay Thai. The school of ornament — gold scrollwork, embroidery, temple motifs — and the school of text. The second is more recent but just as established: in Thai camps the short very often carries the name of the gym written large, sometimes as the only graphic element on the garment.
The logic is different. A motif decorates; lettering states an allegiance and reads at distance, including on video. This model takes that idea to its bare minimum: two words, one ground colour, nothing else.
What the shorts look like
Three ground colours: white, navy and black. On the left thigh, HIT HARD in very large capitals over two lines. Below it, a red band carries a second, smaller line of white lettering.
The waistband takes the ground colour and closes with a visible drawcord rather than the wide elastic band of a traditional Thai short. Matt finish, no scrollwork anywhere.
A drawcord waistband instead of the wide elastic
This is the one short in the Thai range that closes with a drawcord. The difference is practical rather than cosmetic: the tension is set by hand and can be taken up between rounds, where an elastic band holds whatever tension it has.
Everything else follows the Thai logic — the leg stops above the knee so the hip clears for a kick, and the matt fabric holds its shape rather than catching the light.

Worth knowing: the drawcord is the reason to pick this one over an elastic-waisted Thai short: if your waist changes through a camp, you reset the tension by hand instead of living with whatever the band gives you.
Getting the size right
European cut — take your usual size. Thai-made shorts are sized to the Thai market, which is why almost every seller tells you to order one size up. These are cut to European sizing, so that correction does not apply. Eight sizes, XS to 4XL, where most of the market stops at XXL. The drawcord takes up a change in waist measurement through a fight camp. If you train in a groin guard, go one size up.

Frequently asked questions
Why do Muay Thai shorts often carry a name written large?
In Thai camps the short usually carries the name of the gym, frequently as the only graphic on the garment. It states where a fighter trains and it reads from the seats and on video, which a fine ornament does not.
What size Muay Thai shorts should I get?
Take your usual size. These are cut to European sizing, so the standard advice to order one size up — which applies to Thai-made shorts — does not apply here. Eight sizes run XS to 4XL. If you train in a groin guard, go one size up.
What colours does this come in?
Three: white, navy and black. All three carry the same two-line lettering and the red secondary band.
What is the difference between Muay Thai shorts and kickboxing shorts?
Length. Muay Thai shorts stop above the knee with a high side split; kickboxing and K-1 shorts sit lower. Clearing the knee frees the head kick and the clinch.
Can you wear Muay Thai shorts for boxing?
Yes. The short leg and high split take nothing away from footwork, and plenty of boxers train in them. The one difference is the low-blow line: boxing shorts mark it with a waistband above the navel, Thai shorts do not.
How do you wash Muay Thai shorts?
Machine wash inside out at 30 °C / 86 °F, no tumble dryer, and never put an iron directly on the design. Skip the fabric softener: it coats the weave and slows how fast sweat moves through it.
