The essentials: a circular round announcement board, a black disc ringed by a white LED ring, with ROUND and the numeral cut out and backlit. It is held overhead in both hands, as at ringside. €599, free shipping.
The three-minute round is 159 years old
Before 1867 a round lasted until a man touched the floor — some bouts ran past a hundred of them. The Marquess of Queensberry rules, drawn up that year by John Graham Chambers, set the format still in use: three minutes of fighting, one minute of rest, and a ten second count to get up. That division is what made announcing the round number necessary between bells.
This board takes the object into a lit version: the numeral stays readable when the hall is dark and only the ring is lit.
What the visual shows
A matt black disc surrounded by a white ring of light that overhangs slightly at the sides. At the centre, the word ROUND in capitals and, below it, the number in two digits — both cut out of the black ground and lit through. The board is held in both hands; in the photos it covers most of the torso of the person holding it.

Good to know. For a club filming its bouts, this board solves a concrete problem: on footage shot in a dark hall a printed card disappears, a backlit numeral stays readable in the edit.

Frequently asked questions
How long is a round in boxing?
Three minutes in the professional code, followed by one minute of rest, a format set by the Queensberry rules in 1867. In Olympic amateur boxing men fight three rounds of three minutes. Some women's and youth competitions use two-minute rounds.
What is a round board used for at ringside?
To announce the round number to the crowd and the judges between bells. At a filmed event it also acts as an edit marker: every appearance of the board flags the start of a sequence.
Does it work in a dark hall?
That is its main point. The perimeter LED ring and the backlit numeral stay readable when only the ring is lit, where a printed card disappears.
Can it be used as wall decoration?
Yes. Hung on a wall or stood on a shelf it works as a round lit piece. For wall decoration designed as such, the boxing lights and neon signs collection covers neons, signs and clocks.
