The essentials: Rocky Balboa standing with the championship belt at his waist, treated in black and white stencil over a saturated graffiti wall: purple and orange lettering, drawn red gloves, and a spinach tin stamped Power Up 1976. 10 sizes from 20 × 30 cm / 8 × 12 in to 110 × 160 cm / 43 × 63 in. Frame sold separately. From €19 to €109 depending on size, free standard shipping.
Five raw eggs at four in the morning
The most copied training scene in cinema takes ten seconds: up before dawn, five raw eggs swallowed from a glass, and out to run. It did more for the reputation of the raw egg than any campaign.
No strength coach recommends it today. A raw egg is less well absorbed than a cooked one — avidin in the white blocks part of the biotin uptake — and the bacterial risk is real. A boxer getting up to run takes a slow carbohydrate and water instead. The tin painted on this canvas moves the joke elsewhere: it holds spinach, the attribute of a cartoon character, stamped with the year of the first film.
What you see
Portrait format, edge to edge coverage. The boxer holds the centre, framed from the thighs up, bare chested with arms at his sides, treated in black and white like a stencil, a championship belt with a pale plate buckled at the waist and white wraps at the wrists.
The ground layers purple, orange and blue lettering, drips and tags. On the left, a drawn tin carries the words Power Up, high quality spinach and the year 1976; two stylised red gloves sit below it. From 3 m / 10 ft you read a pale figure in a mass of colour; from 1 m / 3 ft every tag and the tin become legible.

Worth knowing: the subject is black and white and all the colour comes from the ground, so the canvas sets the tone of a room without imposing a coloured portrait. In a teenage room or a plain living room, 70 × 100 cm / 28 × 39 in is the balance point. Frames are sold separately: wooden frame up to 100 cm / 39 in per side, XXL wooden frame from 110 to 200 cm / 43 to 79 in, or aluminium frame in 8 finishes.
A pale stencil on a busy ground
The contrast between the black and white figure and the saturated ground keeps the silhouette legible from 30 × 45 cm / 12 × 18 in upwards, but the tags and the tin need 60 × 90 cm / 24 × 35 in to separate. The size chart by wall type covers the other placements room by room.

Frequently asked questions
Is the raw egg scene good training advice?
No. A raw egg is less well absorbed than a cooked one, avidin in the white blocks part of the biotin uptake, and there is a real bacterial risk. Before an early run, a slow carbohydrate and water do the job.
What size canvas should I hang above a sofa?
The working rule is about two thirds of the width of the furniture below it, centred 145 cm / 57 in from the floor. Over a 200 cm / 79 in three-seater, that means 80 × 120 cm / 31 × 47 in; over a two-seater, 60 × 90 cm / 24 × 35 in; in a hallway, 30 × 45 cm / 12 × 18 in. The full size chart by wall type is on the Ali vs Liston 1965 page.
What is the tin on the canvas?
A tin of spinach marked Power Up, high quality spinach and the year 1976, when the first film came out. It transplants a cartoon character's attribute onto a boxer — a way of saying the hero's fuel comes out of an ordinary object.
Is the boxer in colour on this canvas?
No: the figure is a black and white stencil and all the colour is in the graffiti behind him. That is what lets the canvas bring colour into a room without imposing a coloured portrait.
Does the canvas come with a frame?
No, the canvas ships on its own, rolled in a protective tube. Frames are sold separately: wooden frame up to 100 cm / 39 in per side, XXL wooden frame from 110 to 200 cm / 43 to 79 in, or aluminium frame in 8 finishes. The wooden kits are 2.5 cm / 1 in thick and come with instructions.
How do I clean a canvas print?
A dry microfibre cloth handles almost everything. For a mark that stays, use a barely damp cloth with no detergent, wiping across the surface. No abrasive sponge, no glass cleaner.
