White is restraint, and a clean line: a stripped-back colour that leaves nothing to hide behind. These white Esprit Boxe sparring gloves, with their contrasting black markings, put that minimal look together with a serious build — cowhide leather, real shock absorption and a firm hook-and-loop hold, for heavy sparring.
Why white?
Matte white leather with the ESPRIT wordmark and BOXE FOR THE GLORY printed in black across the back of the mitt — the sharpest contrast in the range, and the one that stays readable on video. The build is shared by the whole Esprit Boxe sparring range; only the colour changes.
Genuine cowhide leather
The shell is 100 % cowhide leather. It has natural give, breaks in over the first few sessions and takes on a patina instead of flaking the way coated synthetics do after a year of sweat.
Three foam layers
The padding stacks three foam layers of different densities. The outer layer spreads the impact, the core stays firm: you keep the feedback of the shot while your knuckles and your partner take less of it.
Hook-and-loop strap
The wide hook-and-loop strap lets you glove up on your own in a few seconds and holds the wrist firmly. The thumb is attached to limit thumbing and snagging.
Hand-stitched
Every pair is hand-stitched on the stress lines, with the Esprit Boxe — For the Glory marking on the cuff.

What oz should you pick for sparring?
Sparring runs heavier than bag work, because the padding protects the person in front of you:
- 16 oz: the sparring standard in most clubs, whatever your body weight.
- 14 oz: light and technical sparring, pad rounds.
- 10 – 12 oz: bag work, mitts and speed rounds.
If you are between two weights, our boxing glove size guide sizes by body weight and by what you actually train.

Frequently asked questions
Does the white colour mark up quickly?
Cowhide takes marks the way any leather does, and white shows them earlier than black. Wiping the shell with a damp cloth after each session and applying a leather balm once a month keeps the finish even.
Who was Jack Broughton?
An English bare-knuckle champion who wrote the first written rules of boxing in 1743 and introduced padded training gloves, called mufflers, for sparring in his academy. Fights themselves stayed bare-knuckle until the Queensberry Rules of 1867.
What size boxing gloves should I get for sparring?
16 oz is the standard for sparring and the size most clubs ask for, regardless of body weight. 14 oz works for light technical sparring. 10 and 12 oz belong on the bag and the pads.
Are these real leather boxing gloves?
Yes — the shell is 100 % genuine cowhide leather, not PU. That is what gives the durability and the patina that improves with use, where a coated synthetic tends to flake after heavy sweat exposure.
How do you clean and care for leather boxing gloves?
Take them out of your bag after every session so they air, wipe the shell with a damp cloth and apply a leather balm once a month. Cowhide kept that way stays supple for years.
