Alexander Povetkin became super heavyweight Olympic champion at the 2004 Athens Games, two years after an amateur world title. He turned professional in 2005 and stayed unbeaten through his first twenty-six fights.
He held the WBA heavyweight title from 2011 to 2013, before putting it on the line against Wladimir Klitschko, the only boxer to beat him on points in that period.
