The World Boxing Council has sanctioned world title fights since its founding on 14 February 1963 in Mexico City. The belt reproduced here is the one raised after a world title: gold centrepiece, medallions, flags of the affiliated federations. The panel covers roughly 30 x 34 cm / 12 x 13 in of the face — at five metres / sixteen feet you read WORLD CHAMPION, at one metre / three feet you pick out the flags around the plate.

The cords are anchored on reinforced corner tabs. That is the point that works on a drawstring sack: here the two cords take the load through tabs sewn into the corner seams. One single compartment. Everything goes in one pocket, which loads and empties in a single move. A small zip pouch dropped inside keeps keys and phone to hand.
Water repellent, for a short shower. The polyester sheds water at the surface for the length of a walk. For a laptop or papers, a separate sleeve does the job.

Will a pair of boxing gloves fit inside?
Yes. At 42 x 36 cm / 16.5 x 14 in, a pair of 12 or 14 oz gloves, wraps, a mouthguard and kit go in without forcing. To add headgear and shin guards, a 50 L gym bag brings the volume needed.
Is it a real backpack?
It is a drawstring sack, also called a gym sack: it goes on the back, but the straps are the draw cords themselves, with no padding and no structured back panel. That is what makes it this light and this packable.
Does the print fade in the wash?
The print is sublimated: the inks go into the fibre rather than sitting on top. It does not crack and does not peel. Wash at 30 °C / 86 °F, no bleach and no tumble dryer, and the green stays vivid.
Does it handle rain?
The polyester is water repellent: water beads and rolls off the surface, which covers a shower on the way. The top gathers on a cord. For a laptop or papers, plan on a separate sleeve.
