At the 2008 Beijing Games, Deontay Wilder brought home the only American boxing medal of those Games: bronze at light-heavyweight. He had been boxing for under three years. The nickname was built on that podium, as a nod to Joe Louis, the Brown Bomber of the 1930s. WBC heavyweight champion from 2015, he held the belt for five years with one of the highest stoppage rates in the division. Those two words are what fills the blanket.
What the visual shows
Plain black ground. BRONZE BOMBER is printed in white over two lines, in wide capitals with cut corners, separated by a horizontal rule. Below the lettering, a monogram of the boxer's initials, also in white. Light topstitching runs round the edge of the blanket. Two colours only: black and white.

Good to know
Wash cold with dark laundry and no fabric softener: the microfibre keeps its softness and the print its contrast. Low-heat tumble drying brings the loft back after several washes.

Frequently asked questions
What size blanket should I choose for a sofa?
150x125 cm / 59x49 in for a two-seat sofa, 200x150 cm / 79x59 in for a three-seat, 125x100 cm / 49x39 in for an armchair or a sofa back. The complete match-up is in the size guide.
Where does the nickname Bronze Bomber come from?
From the bronze medal won at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, set against the nickname of Joe Louis, the Brown Bomber, heavyweight champion from 1937 to 1949.
How do you wash a dark blanket without it bleeding?
Cold, with dark laundry, no softener and no bleach. The first two washes can release a little dye, as any new dark textile does.
How long was Deontay Wilder world champion?
Five years: he took the WBC heavyweight belt in January 2015 against Bermane Stiverne and held it until February 2020, with ten successful defences.
Is the design printed on both sides?
No, on one side only. The reverse is plain and smooth, so the blanket can be turned over when you want a neutral finish on the sofa.
The same world carries on with boxing wall art and the rest of the boxing decoration.
