On 1 August 1987, at the Las Vegas Hilton, Mike Tyson beat Tony Tucker on points and became unified world heavyweight champion: WBC, WBA and IBF on the same shoulders. Nine months earlier, on 22 November 1986, his second-round win over Trevor Berbick had already made him the youngest heavyweight champion in history, at 20 years and 4 months — a record nobody has taken since. That is exactly the image this blanket carries: the champion standing, the three belts worn together, a moment that lasted only a stretch of his career.
What the visual shows
Plain black across the whole surface. Mike Tyson is printed at the centre, torso and legs in black and white, gloves and belts in colour: the green WBC belt across the shoulder, the WBA and the IBF at the waist and on the shoulder. The contrast between the desaturated body and the gold of the belts holds at a distance: at three metres / ten feet you pick out the stance and the red gloves, at one metre / three feet you can make out the plates and medallions of each belt.

Dimensions are given width by height. The blanket is therefore wider than it is tall, landscape format.

Good to know
Decorating guides recommend 220 x 240 cm / 87 x 94 in to cover a double bed fully with an overhang on both sides. The 200 x 150 cm / 79 x 59 in in this range lies across the foot of the bed instead, or covers a single bed completely. For strictly decorative use on a large bed, measure your mattress before ordering.

Care
Wash cold, on its own or with dark-coloured textiles, on a delicate cycle. Tumble drying is fine at low heat: it is the best way to bring the loft back to the fibres after several washes. Avoid fabric softener, which leaves a film on microfibre and reduces its softness, and never use bleach on the print.

What size blanket should I choose for a sofa?
Allow 150 x 125 cm / 59 x 49 in for a two-seat sofa and 200 x 150 cm / 79 x 59 in for a three-seat. The 125 x 100 cm / 49 x 39 in suits an armchair or sits on the sofa back as a decorative piece. For a corner sofa the usual recommendation is at least 180 x 220 cm / 71 x 87 in, above the largest size in this range.
What is the difference between a throw and a bed blanket?
A bed blanket is made to sleep under and covers a whole bed, often from 220 x 240 cm / 87 x 94 in. A throw is smaller and lighter, laid over a sofa, an armchair or the foot of a bed: you wrap it round you seated and use it as a decorative piece. The 125 x 100 to 200 x 150 cm / 49 x 39 to 79 x 59 in sizes in this range are made for that.
How do you wash a microfibre throw without it pilling?
Cold, delicate cycle, no softener and no bleach, then low-heat tumble drying. Pilling comes mainly from rubbing against rough textiles: wash the throw on its own or with soft laundry, and close any zips in the machine.
How many belts did Mike Tyson hold at the same time?
Three: WBC in November 1986 against Trevor Berbick, WBA in March 1987 against James Smith, IBF in August 1987 against Tony Tucker. He held all three until February 1990 and his defeat by Buster Douglas in Tokyo. Those are the three belts on the print.
Is the design printed on both sides?
No, on one side only. The reverse is plain and smooth, so the blanket can be turned over when you want a neutral finish on the sofa.
