The Mexican flag carries at its centre an eagle on a cactus with a snake in its beak: the founding scene of Tenochtitlan, as the Aztec codices tell it. It is one of the few national emblems that narrates a legend rather than arranging colours, and Mexican boxers have carried it on their ring walks for decades.
On this cap it is printed inside the monogram itself: the CA of Canelo Alvarez serves as a window onto the motif.
What a filled monogram gives you
The monogram takes up half the front panel. It is filled with a colour print layering the green, white and red bands of the flag, the eagle from the coat of arms and, at the top, the eyes of Canelo Alvarez. At four metres you see a large coloured shape on black; at one metre the eagle and the eyes come through.
Cut and adjustment
Flat brim delivered unbent, structured 13 cm / 5.1 in crown, rear snapback closure. The measurement table shared by every flat brim cap sits on the Everlast snapback listing.

The black and the coloured motif reinforce each other: the ground is what gives the flag its maximum contrast, and it is the reason this model exists in that shade alone.
Worth a look
The Canelo snapback keeps the flat brim with a smaller mark. The Canelo tricolour cap works the name rather than the monogram, and the TMT Mexican cap takes the three colours from the Mayweather side. Everything sits in the boxing caps collection.
Frequently asked questions
What does the eagle on the Mexican flag mean?
A golden eagle perched on a cactus, devouring a snake — the sign the Mexica were told to look for when choosing where to build their capital. They found it on an island in Lake Texcoco and founded Tenochtitlan there, on the site of present-day Mexico City.
What size cap should I get?
The snap closure covers 55–59 cm / 21.7–23.2 in. Measure with a tape about 1 cm / 0.4 in above the eyebrows, around the back of the skull over the bump, without pulling tight.
What is the CA monogram?
The initials of Saúl Canelo Alvarez, interlocked into a single angular mark. He wears it on his kit and his gloves; here it is used as an outline holding the flag and the portrait.
Whose eyes are inside the monogram?
Canelo Alvarez’s. They occupy the upper part of the mark, above the eagle, and are the detail you only pick out at close range — at four metres the print reads as flag colours alone.
How do you wash a cap with a large print?
By hand, lukewarm water at 30 °C / 86 °F maximum, mild soap, dabbing the motif rather than scrubbing it. Dry in the shade: a colour print loses depth in direct sun faster than a plain ground does.
Single colourway: add it straight to the basket.
