Boxing spent a long time outside the law. In New York State it stayed banned until the Walker Law of 1920, which legalised it and created an athletic commission to govern it. That statute is what made Madison Square Garden the world capital of the sport, and what pulled it out of the back rooms where it had been fought in secret.
This cap owns that register: gothic lettering embroidered large, OUTLAW beneath, and a play of colour blocks between the front panel and the rest of the crown.
What the gothic embroidery gives you
The word is stitched in gothic characters with thick and thin strokes, across the full width of the front panel, with OUTLAW in small spaced capitals just beneath and repeated the same way on both side panels. The under-brim carries 2PAC « WAY OF LIFE » and the line Laugh with many but don't trust any, printed white on black. At four metres you register the shape of the lettering; at one metre the words read.
The eight colourways
Five plain versions — camouflage, black, grey, charcoal and dark green — and three colour-blocked: burgundy, black and white, black and red. On those three the front panel is one colour and the back of the cap another.

How do you wash a cap with thick embroidery?
By hand, lukewarm water at 30 °C / 86 °F maximum, mild soap, without brushing the stitched area. Dry in the open air over something round. A machine drum pulls on the threads of foam-backed embroidery.
