Commissioned in 1980, sited in 2006
For Rocky III, Sylvester Stallone commissioned American sculptor A. Thomas Schomberg in 1980 to make a life-size bronze of the character with both arms raised. After filming, the statue moved several times.
Since 2006 it has stood at the foot of the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps, to the right of the flight that visitors climb every day to run it themselves.
What you get
A scaled reproduction of that statue: boxer standing, both arms raised, gloved fists, trunks and boots, on a square two-step base. Even dark bronze finish, with no gilding and no colour contrast.
What the photograph will not tell you is the usable height. At 30.5 cm / 12 in including the raised arms, the piece needs 35 cm / 14 in of clear space above the shelf, or the gloves meet the shelf above. The bronze is matt: it does not bounce spotlight back and reads through its shadows, so light it from the side rather than the ceiling. It ships in its original black box.

Buying tip: for a collector the box is part of the piece — keep it. For display, low side light lengthens the shadows across the chest and raised arms; under a vertical ceiling fitting the outline flattens and the gesture reads less clearly.
Running the Philadelphia steps
The 72 steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art have been a run in their own right since the first Rocky came out in 1976. The statue stands at the bottom right, not at the top: many visitors climb first, then come back down to find it. That arrival pose, arms up, is what this piece reproduces.
