The essentials: a belly pad with a built-in groin guard, worn by the fighter. In one piece it covers the lower abdomen, the hips and the groin. High-grade PU leather, high-density foam of about 20 mm / 0.8 in, adjustable lacing on a flexible belt, one size. Three colourways in a Spartan design: gold, red or blue. €99, free standard shipping.
A conventional guard covers the groin and nothing else. But in hard sparring, the shots that hurt most are not always the ones landing in the middle: they are the hooks at the edge of the belt line, the ones that ride up onto the hip or drop onto the iliac crest. This belly pad covers exactly that grey area, with the groin guard built in.
Not to be confused
This belly pad is worn by the fighter, to protect himself. A coach belly pad is worn by the person taking the shots — the coach holding the session — and serves as a training target. Similar family of names, two opposite uses.
One piece, three zones
The shell is high-grade PU leather over high-density foam of about 20 mm / 0.8 in. The adjustable lacing runs on a flexible belt, which is what lets one size fit a range of builds and lets you match the tension to the compression shorts worn underneath.
Covering three zones in a single piece also removes the gap that appears between a guard and a separate belt — the point where a hook slips through.
Three colourways in a Spartan design
The belt comes in gold, red and blue on black, in a distinctive Spartan design. Build, thickness and price are strictly identical across the three: the choice is visual. Red and blue let clubs tell the two corners apart in scenario work.

Wearing and caring for a belly pad
- Over compression shorts, with the boxing shorts on top or the belt left visible, depending on the session.
- Set the lacing standing up, then check by bending forward: the belt should follow the movement without the guard tipping.
- Wipe the PU after each session with a slightly damp cloth, and let it air dry away from a radiator.
- Loosen the lacing before storing it: leaving the belt under tension in a bag works the eyelets over time.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a belly pad and a conventional guard?
Coverage. A conventional guard covers the groin. This belt adds the lower abdomen and the hips in one piece, which is where hooks at the edge of the belt line land in hard sparring.
Who wears this belt: the fighter or the coach?
The fighter, for their own protection. The belt worn by the coach as a target is a coach belly pad, which is a different piece of kit despite the similar name.
Does it come in several sizes?
It is one adult size. The adjustable lacing on a flexible belt is what covers a range of builds, and lets you match the tension to the compression shorts underneath.
Is it allowed in competition?
It is built for sparring and training. Competition rules generally require an approved groin guard rather than a belly pad, so check the format your federation accepts.
How thick is the padding?
About 20 mm / 0.8 in of high-density foam under high-grade PU leather — the thickness that absorbs body shots without stiffening the hips.
How do you look after it?
Wipe the PU with a slightly damp cloth after each session and let it air dry away from direct heat. Loosen the lacing before putting it away, so the eyelets are not left under tension in a bag.
