In short: flexible silicone mould, 143 x 73 x 15 mm / 5.6 x 2.9 x 0.6 in, holding 7 boxing decoration cavities: two gloves, a boxer, a championship belt, a punching bag on a base, a ring bell and a ring plaque. For fondant, sugarpaste, gumpaste, chocolate or polymer clay. €19, free standard shipping.
The seven motifs turn out in relief, ready to sit on icing: the pair of gloves with their laces picked out, the championship belt with its chased centre plate and two side medallions, the boxer standing with gloved fists up, the punching bag on a flared base, the ring bell on its plate and the square ring plaque with its corner post and ropes. Dusted with edible gold, they take on the look of chased metal.
A decoration mould, not a baking tin
The mould measures 143 x 73 mm / 5.6 x 2.9 in overall: each cavity runs between 2 and 6 cm / 0.8 and 2.4 in. These are decoration pieces to sit on the cake, not the base of the cake. That is what gets you a 6 cm / 2.4 in championship belt in sugarpaste, a shape a cutter will not give you.
The seven cavities
- Two boxing gloves, laces and stitching picked out, to place as a pair.
- A boxer standing with gloved fists up: the largest motif in the mould.
- A championship belt with a centre plate and side medallions.
- A punching bag on a flared base, free standing trainer style.
- A ring bell on its plate, with the hammer in relief.
- A square ring plaque, corner post and ropes in relief, to letter with an age or a name.

How to get a clean release
In sugarpaste or gumpaste. Dust the cavity with icing sugar or cornflour, tap out the excess, press the paste firmly into the recess and level it off with a knife. Put the mould in the freezer for 10 minutes before releasing: the paste firms up and the motif comes out in one piece, glove laces intact.
In chocolate. Use tempered chocolate, pour, tap the mould on the worktop to clear the bubbles, then chill for 20 minutes. The silicone folds back on itself and the motif drops out on its own.
Good to know before ordering
This is a decoration mould. The cavities run 2 to 6 cm / 0.8 to 2.4 in: they make the pieces you place on the cake, once the cake itself has been baked in its own tin.
A spell in the cold gives the crispest motifs. Ten minutes in the freezer firms the sugarpaste: the glove laces and the chasing on the belt come out in one piece.
Wash in hot soapy water straight after use. That is what keeps the silicone perfectly white, red and black colourings included, and ready for the next batch.
FAQ
Can you bake a cake in this mould?
No. It is a decoration mould: the cavities run 2 to 6 cm / 0.8 to 2.4 in and make decoration pieces in sugarpaste or chocolate, which you then place on the cake. The whole mould measures 143 x 73 mm / 5.6 x 2.9 in.
Which motifs does it hold?
Seven cavities: two boxing gloves with laces picked out, a boxer standing with gloved fists up, a championship belt with a centre plate and two medallions, a punching bag on a flared base, a ring bell on its plate and a square ring plaque with corner post and ropes.
Which media can I use?
Sugarpaste, fondant, gumpaste, marzipan and tempered chocolate on the baking side. Outside the kitchen it also works with polymer clay and air dry modelling clay for craft pieces.
How do I release the motifs without breaking them?
Dust the cavity with icing sugar or cornflour, press the paste in, level it off, then put the mould in the freezer for 10 minutes. The paste firms slightly and comes out in one piece. In chocolate, allow 20 minutes in the fridge.
How do I get the gold finish on the belt?
With edible gold dust brushed on dry over the raised parts of the released motif. The dust catches the edges and leaves the recesses darker, which gives the chased metal look of a real championship belt.
Does it make a good gift?
For someone who bakes and whose circle boxes: the mould is reusable indefinitely and works as well for a child's birthday as for an end of season cake at the club.
