Bull MMA shorts

- Regular price€39,00

In short: Two red bull heads, nostrils steaming, on a black ground rayed with red. The bull is the animal of the fighter who walks forward, not the one who slips. 8 sizes, XS to 4XL. €39.
The animal of forward pressure
There are two ways to win a fight: give ground and counter, or come forward and impose. The bull belongs to the second school, what boxing calls pressure fighting — cutting the ring, shrinking the space, forcing the other man to work going backwards.
It is a style that costs a great deal in conditioning and assumes you will take shots to land them. It is also the one that breaks opponents in the later rounds.
What the shorts look like
Black ground with red rays fanning out from the waistband. On each leg, a red and white bull head, nostrils steaming, horns raised. The design is symmetrical: the two heads face each other across the centre seam.
The waistband is black. Clean side slits. Sublimated print.
A symmetrical design, two heads answering each other
The two bull heads face each other across the centre seam. The symmetry is not decorative: it makes the short read the same whichever side you show, which a motif on one leg does not.
The red rays fan out from the waistband and converge downward, which lengthens the leg visually. For the full detail of the fight short cut, see the grey geometric fight short.

Worth knowing: a symmetrical design is worth knowing about if you film your rounds: the short reads the same from either side, where a single-leg motif disappears half the time.
Getting the size right
European cut — take your usual size. Eight sizes, XS to 4XL, where most of the market stops at XXL on a fight short. The symmetry of the two heads holds at every size, either side of the centre seam. The drawcord takes up a change in waist measurement. In a groin guard, go one size up.

Frequently asked questions
What is pressure fighting?
A style built on cutting the ring and shrinking the space, forcing the opponent to work going backwards. It costs heavily in conditioning and assumes you take shots to land them, and it is what breaks opponents in the later rounds.
What is the difference between MMA shorts and boxing shorts?
An MMA short is built for the ground as well as the feet. It runs longer, to just above the knee, with a side slit on each leg so a closed guard and a leg pass do not bind the hip, and a flat drawcord waistband that stays tied when an opponent pulls on it. Boxing shorts have none of that.
Do these fit true to size?
Yes. European cut — take your usual size. Eight sizes run XS to 4XL. The drawcord takes up a change in waist measurement. If you train in a groin guard, go one size up.
Does the print wear off in the wash?
No. The design is sublimated into the fibre rather than laid on top of it, so there is no layer to crack or peel on the mat. Wash inside out at 30 °C / 86 °F and skip the fabric softener.
Do these come in big and tall sizes?
Yes, up to 4XL. Most of the market stops at XXL on a fight short.
How do you wash MMA shorts?
Machine wash inside out at 30 °C / 86 °F, no tumble dryer, and no iron on the design. Avoid fabric softener: it coats the weave and slows how fast sweat moves through it.
