Gorilla MMA shorts

- Regular price€39,00

In short: The gorilla is the heavyweight’s totem: mass, apparent calm, brief explosion. Two large gorilla heads, one per leg, in black and white throughout — the highest-contrast short in the MMA range. 8 sizes, XS to 4XL. €39.
Why the gorilla rather than the lion
In combat-sports imagery each animal points to a style. The snake is speed and the angle out. The wolf is the pack and endurance. The gorilla is power in close quarters — exactly what wrestling and the clinch demand.
It is no accident that heavyweights claim it so often: it is the one animal in the set whose reputation rests on what it can do at arm’s length rather than at range.
What the shorts look like
Black and white throughout, with no other colour. Two large gorilla heads take one leg each: the right in white on black, jaws open; the left in black on white, more compact. The contrast reverses from one leg to the other.
The waistband is black with discreet lettering. Clean side slits. Sublimated print.
Reversed contrast from one leg to the other
The right leg is white on black, the left black on white. Same animal, same size, the relationship inverted. In movement the two legs never merge: the eye follows one, then the other.
It is a short built with no colour at all, on that relationship alone. For the full detail of the fight short cut, see the grey geometric fight short.

Worth knowing: no colour at all means nothing to clash with. This is the short that pairs with any rashguard in the drawer, which a coloured print does not.
Getting the size right
European cut — take your usual size. Eight sizes, XS to 4XL, where most of the market stops at XXL on a fight short. Both heads are scaled per size and keep the same relationship from leg to leg. The drawcord takes up a change in waist measurement. In a groin guard, go one size up.

Frequently asked questions
Does this come in another colour?
No — black and white is the design. It is the only short in the MMA range built with no colour at all, which is what makes the reversed contrast between the two legs work.
What is the difference between MMA shorts and boxing shorts?
An MMA short is built for the ground as well as the feet. It runs longer, to just above the knee, with a side slit on each leg so a closed guard and a leg pass do not bind the hip, and a flat drawcord waistband that stays tied when an opponent pulls on it. Boxing shorts have none of that.
Do these fit true to size?
Yes. European cut — take your usual size. Eight sizes run XS to 4XL. The drawcord takes up a change in waist measurement. If you train in a groin guard, go one size up.
Does the print wear off in the wash?
No. The design is sublimated into the fibre rather than laid on top of it, so there is no layer to crack or peel on the mat. Wash inside out at 30 °C / 86 °F and skip the fabric softener.
Do these come in big and tall sizes?
Yes, up to 4XL. Most of the market stops at XXL on a fight short.
How do you wash MMA shorts?
Machine wash inside out at 30 °C / 86 °F, no tumble dryer, and no iron on the design. Avoid fabric softener: it coats the weave and slows how fast sweat moves through it.
