This is the black and gold version of our travel mug. The lacquered black body carries the CANELO lettering in gold capitals, and beneath it a circular medallion of Aztec inspiration in dense interlace framing the CA monogram of Saúl Canelo Álvarez. The artwork wraps the mug, from the top of the wall down to the foot.
The Aztec motif is not decoration by accident
Saúl Canelo Álvarez was born in Guadalajara in 1990, and Mexican boxing is a culture of its own: constant pressure, body work, no stepping back. The gold pre-Columbian interlace of the medallion points to that heritage, and the CA monogram at its centre sets his initials interlocked.
Lacquered black in use
The lacquered finish comes back with one pass of a dry microfibre cloth: fingerprints, coffee splashes and bag dust wipe off with no product. That is what makes this colourway practical for a mug that lives in a car or at the bottom of a gym bag.

Good to know before ordering
The gold artwork is surface printed. It holds up to normal use; a soft microfibre cloth and no abrasive sponge keep the gold clean on the lacquer for years.
A flap is not a screw cap. It holds back splashes very well in normal use, but carry the mug upright rather than lying in a bag.
No dishwasher, no microwave. Hand washing preserves the gold print and the lid seal; the microwave is out on any steel container.
Care
Rinse the body in warm soapy water after each use, with a bottle brush for coffee or tea. Take the lid apart and brush it: the flap mechanism and its seal hold residue you cannot see, and a lid closed damp develops odours within days. Dry lid and body separately. On the black outside, a soft microfibre cloth brings the lacquer back without scratching the gold.
