Born on 29 December 1983 in Mbare, Zimbabwe, Dereck Chisora arrived in London at sixteen and took up boxing after a rough adolescence. He would go on to face Vitali Klitschko, David Haye and Tyson Fury three times, never once ducking a man ranked above him. His nickname runs to three letters: War.
Those three letters take the front panel here, large, with his name on a line just beneath.
What the lettering gives you
The block is printed in one piece: WAR in solid capitals about 3 cm / 1.2 in tall, a horizontal rule below it, then CHISORA in smaller spaced letters under the rule. At six metres WAR still reads; the name comes through at two.
Cut and adjustment
Pre-formed curved peak, soft 9 cm / 3.5 in crown, rear adjuster strap. The measurement table shared by every curved peak cap sits on the Canelo washed cap listing.

Three solid letters 3 cm / 1.2 in tall, with no outline and no drop shadow: nothing softens the stroke, which is what accounts for the reading at six metres. The rule between the two lines is printed with the rest of the block, so it cannot lift.
Worth a look
On the British side, the Lonsdale cap carries the oldest name in the domestic game. The Muhammad Ali cap works a heavyweight of another era, and the Canelo Alvarez cap another active champion. Everything sits in the boxing caps collection.
Frequently asked questions
Who is Dereck War Chisora?
A British heavyweight born in Zimbabwe on 29 December 1983 and settled in London from the age of sixteen. He has fought Vitali Klitschko, David Haye and Tyson Fury three times. The nickname War comes from his willingness to take any fight offered.
What size boxing cap should I get?
The rear strap covers 55–59 cm / 21.7–23.2 in. Measure with a tape about 1 cm / 0.4 in above the eyebrows, around the back of the skull over the bump, without pulling tight.
Which colourway should I pick?
The lettering is dark, so the light grounds give the strongest contrast: white, grey, yellow and pink. Red and navy keep the reading softer, for a quieter cap overall.
How many times did Chisora fight Tyson Fury?
Three: in 2011, in 2014 and in December 2022. Fury won all three, the last two by stoppage. Chisora is one of very few opponents Fury has faced more than twice.
How do you wash a light-coloured cap?
By hand, lukewarm water at 30 °C / 86 °F maximum, mild soap with no bleaching agent that would yellow the fibres. Brush the inner sweatband gently, since it marks first, and dry in the open air over something round.
All seven colourways sit under the same listing: pick yours from the drop-down above.
