The essentials: a speed rope with a considered design, on smooth foam handles with gold-finish metal end caps. PVC-coated braided steel cable of 2.80 m / 9 ft 2 in on ball bearings, adjustable length. Three colourways: grey and gold, black and gold, pink and gold. €19, free standard shipping.
Most speed ropes look alike: black tube, black cable, no identity. This one takes the opposite line. Smooth foam handles, gold-finish end caps, a light cable — it is a rope you leave on show in your bag or hanging on the gym wall, not one you put away out of duty.
The styling costs nothing mechanically: underneath sit the steel cable and the ball bearings expected on a real training rope.
The gold finish, and a smooth foam
The gold metal end caps frame each handle, top and bottom. That is the model's visual signature, carried across the three colourways: it stands out by contrast on the black, blends into the light grey, and sits with the pink.
The body is smooth foam, without ribs or raised rings, for a clean look. The foam keeps what matters: it absorbs moisture, damps the vibration coming up the cable and does not go cold in an unheated room.
If grip is your first priority, our ribbed foam handle model adds raised ribbing that gives the fingers extra purchase.
Steel cable and ball bearings
The cable is a braided steel wire protected by a PVC coating, supplied at 2.80 m / 9 ft 2 in. It holds its tension over time, does not take a spiral set and stands up to fast cadences.
The ball bearings housed in the end caps let the cable turn without dragging the handle. No twist builds up, so there is no kinked rope between sets and no tight spot breaking the cadence.

The right floor for a coated steel cable. Aim for wood, a training mat, tatami or a rubber surface: these preserve the coating and give a more consistent rebound. Tarmac and bare concrete are abrasive and attack the coating.

Frequently asked questions
How long is this skipping rope?
2.80 m / 9 ft 2 in, adjustable with a clamping screw and then cut to measure. Stand a foot on the middle of the cable: the handles should reach the shoulders to learn, the armpits for speed work.
Is a design rope actually usable for training?
Yes. Underneath the finish sit a braided steel cable and ball bearings — the same mechanics as any speed rope in the collection. The gold end caps change the look, not the rotation.
What is the difference with the ribbed foam model?
The grip. This one has smooth foam for a clean look; the ribbed model adds raised ribbing that gives the fingers purchase, which tells on long sets when the hands sweat.
Do the three colourways share the same specification?
Yes. Same cable, same bearings, same handles, same length and same price across grey and gold, black and gold and pink and gold. Only the finish changes.
Does the gold finish wear?
The end caps are the part that meets the floor least, since it is the cable that scrapes. Wipe them with a dry cloth after a session and store the rope coiled rather than folded, and the finish stays as it is.
Can you do double unders with this rope?
Yes. The steel cable holds its tension and the ball bearings stop twist building up between sets, which is what double unders require.
