The essentials: the two-tone shoulder panel comes from 1970s team jerseys: it let you tell two sides apart at a distance, including on black and white television. Lonsdale lion on the chest. The pockets carry a binding matched to the panel, which repeats the contrast at the bottom of the garment. 7 combinations, 6 sizes from S to XXXL, European cut — take your usual size. €39, free standard shipping.
The chevron comes from the changing room, not the studio
The two tone build with a shoulder panel comes straight from club jerseys of the 1970s and 1980s: it let you tell two teams apart at a distance, including on black and white television.
The downward chevron has a second, purely visual job: it widens the shoulders and narrows the waist. That is why it survived long after the television argument stopped applying, and why it turns up on training kit rather than on formal wear.
The artwork
The lion emblem, in profile with a forepaw raised, sits above LONSDALE in heavy serif capitals, with LONDON in small type on a band.
The print is monochrome and set against the shoulder panel. Seven combinations are available, including two beiges and a yellow — shades that are rare on this kind of garment. Plain back.
The garment
Lined hood with a drawcord, kangaroo pocket, ribbed cuffs and hem. Two tone build with a contrast shoulder panel, and contrast sleeves on several versions.

Frequently asked questions
Is Lonsdale a real boxing brand?
Yes. It was founded in London in 1960 by Bernard Hart, a professional boxer turned equipment maker, and it supplied British gyms long before it became a clothing label.
Where does the two tone chevron build come from?
From club jerseys of the 1970s and 1980s, where a contrast shoulder panel told two teams apart at a distance. The downward chevron also widens the shoulders visually.
How many colours are there?
Seven combinations, including two beiges and a navy and yellow — unusual shades for this kind of garment.
Is the back printed?
No. The back is plain; the contrast panel wraps the shoulders but carries no lettering.
What size should I take?
European cut — take your usual size, with no Asian sizing to convert. Six sizes from S to XXXL, all at the same price. Over training kit, go up one.
How do I care for the print?
Machine wash at 30 °C / 86 °F inside out, no tumble dryer, and never run an iron over the print. Heat transfer film holds for years on that routine and gives way to heat, not to washing.
