The guard that made him impossible to hit
The position shown here has a name: the shoulder roll, or Philly shell. The lead arm sits low across the stomach, the lead shoulder comes up to protect the chin, and the rear hand stays against the cheek. The torso turns so that punches slide along the shoulder instead of being blocked.
The return is measurable: in his later fights Mayweather regularly absorbed under 20 percent of the punches thrown at him, one of the lowest rates ever recorded at that level. He was never knocked down in twenty-one professional years. The trade-off is that it demands exceptional reflexes: the same guard on a slower fighter leaves the head exposed.
What you see
Portrait format, beige to grey ground worked as old paper, stained and scuffed. The boxer is framed from the hips up, arms crossed in front of the body, red gloves brought into a high guard, white wraps at the wrists.
Skin and setting are desaturated; only the colour of the gloves stays strong. Spatter and runs spill past the outline of the body into the ground, blurring where the figure ends and the support begins. The trunks carry the word HUBLOT in capitals on the waistband. From 3 m / 10 ft you read a boxer on an old ground; from 1 m / 3 ft the stains in the paper appear.

How do I clean a canvas print?
A dry microfibre cloth handles almost everything. For a mark that stays, use a barely damp cloth with no detergent, wiping across the surface. No abrasive sponge, no glass cleaner.
