Muay thai is called the art of eight limbs: two fists, two elbows, two knees, two shins. It is the only striking discipline that allows all four surfaces plus the clinch. Before every bout the fighter performs the wai khru ram muay, a ritual dance honouring his teacher that doubles as a warm-up.
This cap carries the name of the discipline large, with two fighters in action printed over the lettering.
The lettering, near and far
MUAY THAI is set on two lines in wide capitals, filled with an ochre and gold stone texture. Two fighters drawn in line work sit over the letters — one throwing a high kick, the other blocking — and run past the letterforms rather than being contained by them. BOXING is set vertically down the right side. At four metres you read both words; at one metre the scene and the texture come through.

This is the one cap in the collection given over to muay thai in its lettering. The ochre tones read best on the dark grounds and on sand, which extends the palette of the motif.
Worth a look
The Fairtex cap covers muay thai too, in a ventilated trucker build. For other disciplines, the UFC cap and the WBC World Champion cap. Everything sits in the boxing caps collection.
Frequently asked questions
Why is muay thai called the art of eight limbs?
Because it allows eight striking surfaces: two fists, two elbows, two knees and two shins. Boxing uses two, kickboxing four. Muay thai adds the clinch on top, a phase of close-range control.
What is the wai khru ram muay?
The ritual dance performed before every muay thai bout. It honours the fighter’s teacher and family and serves as a warm-up. Each camp has its own figures, which is how you can identify where a fighter trains.
What size cap should I get?
The snap closure covers 55–59 cm / 21.7–23.2 in. Measure with a tape about 1 cm / 0.4 in above the eyebrows, around the back of the skull over the bump, without pulling tight.
Muay thai or kickboxing — what is the difference?
Elbows and the clinch. Kickboxing allows fists and kicks, with knees under some rule sets; muay thai adds elbow strikes and permits extended clinch work, where a fighter can control the head and knee the body.
How do you wash a printed cap?
By hand, lukewarm water at 30 °C / 86 °F maximum, mild soap, dabbing the motif rather than brushing it. Dry in the shade: the ochre tones of the texture fade in direct sun faster than a flat block of colour.
All nine colourways sit under the same listing: pick yours from the drop-down above.
