The essentials: a red and black focus mitt in PU leather, with a white target at the centre of the striking face. Injection moulded padding with good shock absorption, a buckle retaining strap, finger loops and reinforced lacing around the rim. Sold singly — €19, free standard delivery.
A focus mitt sold by the piece, carrying the essentials of the build: hard-wearing PU leather, injection moulding, a clean central target and reinforced lacing. Enough to get started, kit out a training pair, or add to a club set one piece at a time.
White central target: an instant reference
The black striking face carries a ringed white disc at its centre. The contrast is at its maximum: the boxer aims at a precise point rather than a surface, which naturally corrects the alignment of the fist on the jab and the cross. The coach checks at a glance whether the impact was centred or off — a simple and formidably effective guide for a beginner.
Two-tone red and black
The back and the rim are red, the impact face black, with exposed white lacing picking out the edge. A classic gym look, and a practical layout: the area that takes the shots is in the darker shade.
PU leather and injection moulding
The shell is PU leather, supple and resistant to the repeated friction of gloves. Inside, the injection moulding gives good shock absorption on punch work while keeping the mitt light: the coach moves the target quickly between shots without the arm loading up.
Hold: buckle strap and finger loops
The back carries finger loops and a buckle retaining strap that keeps the mitt stable on the hand. The rim is closed with reinforced lacing, stronger than plain stitching on an area under repeated strain.

Getting the most out of pad work
- Aim at the disc: ask the boxer to hit the centre of the target, not simply the mitt.
- Short combinations: 3 to 5 shots (jab, cross, hook) beat long, loose series.
- Locked wrist: present the mitt facing the fist and meet the impact slightly.
- Tighten the strap before the round: a mitt with play on the hand tires the wrist and throws the target off.
- Care: wipe after each session with a dry or lightly damp cloth and let it dry naturally.

Frequently asked questions
Is it sold singly or as a pair?
Singly: you receive one focus mitt, with free standard delivery. To work combinations with both hands, order two.
Is it suitable for beginners?
Yes. The white central target is an excellent guide for learning to align the fist, and buying by the piece lets you start with a single mitt, at home or working in pairs. For a coach running several sessions a day, the real leather range moulds to the hand and keeps its surface longer.
How does it differ from the Elite focus mitts?
Both are PU leather and sold by the piece. The Elite brings a concentric ring target that lets you measure how far off an impact landed, a vented mesh panel on the back of the hand and a choice of 4 colours. This red and black model carries a solid white target, a simpler reference for a beginner to read.
What is it made of?
PU leather, a synthetic that stands up to the friction of gloves, with injection moulded padding inside and reinforced lacing around the rim. For very heavy daily use, the Esprit Boxe range in real leather moulds to the hand and keeps its surface longer.
Do you need gloves to strike it?
Yes. Pad work is done with hand wraps and boxing gloves, generally 10 to 14 oz. Striking bare-handed exposes the knuckles, even against a padded target.
How do you look after it?
Wipe the surface with a dry or lightly damp cloth after each session and let it dry at room temperature. Avoid the washing machine, soaking and direct heat.
