The essentials: full coverage boxing headgear in PU leather, whose oversized cheek pads run down to cover the jaw line, where a standard full coverage model stops at the cheekbone. Single density padding, breathable lining, crown strap and a wide rear hook-and-loop. 2 sizes: M and L. 3 contrasting two-tone colourways: navy and white, black and white, red. €49, free standard delivery.
This is the headguard for rounds you string together. Its signature is the size of the cheek protection: it runs low and rises high on the cheekbone, wrapping the jaw more widely than a standard full coverage model. That is precisely the area that takes hooks and mistimed uppercuts, and the one that causes the most inner lip cuts.
Cheeks that cover the jaw line
On standard full coverage headgear, the cheek protection stops at the bone. Here the pad extends downwards and covers the jaw along its whole length. The contrast of pale cheeks against a dark shell also makes the headguard immediately recognisable in the ring. The face opening stays oval and clear so the frontal field of vision is not closed off.
Single density padding: what it means in practice
The foam is one density, calibrated for the touches of controlled sparring and regular training. It is the padding that suits that use, and it keeps the face opening clear rather than adding bulk around the eyes. For heavy daily sparring, stacked layer foam brings an extra reserve of absorption.
Adjustment and hold
A strap across the crown sets the seating height, and a wide rear hook-and-loop band with a tightening buckle sets the head size. It goes on in seconds, with no lacing, which counts when you have to readjust between rounds one-handed with gloves on.
M or L: how to choose
This model comes in two sizes. Measure your head circumference with a tape, 2 cm / 0.8 in above the eyebrows and across the widest point at the back of the skull, then check the size guide for the range, which we keep on a single page of the catalogue. If your measurement falls outside the M-L range, smaller or larger, the full coverage headguard available up to XL covers a far wider spread.

Worth knowing: this model comes in M and L, the most requested adult range. For a slimmer or wider head, the full coverage headguard up to XL covers far more. The padding is single density: built for controlled sparring rather than hard sparring. The shell is PU leather, not animal hide. And this format is not allowed in official competition: sanctioned amateur boxing bouts are fought in open face headgear.

Frequently asked questions
Which headgear should you choose for sparring?
For controlled sparring, full coverage headgear with cheek protection does the job and covers the jaw, the area most exposed to hooks. For hard or daily sparring, move to real leather headgear with denser foam. For purely technical sparring or competition, open face headgear keeps a better field of vision.
How does it differ from the other PU headguard at the same price?
Same range, PU leather and single density padding, but two different priorities. This one pushes the cheek pads lower to cover the jaw line, in two sizes. The other model offers the size grid, up to XL above 61 cm / 24 in. Choose according to whether your priority is jaw coverage or the fit to your head.
M or L: which size should I take?
Measure your head circumference 2 cm / 0.8 in above the eyebrows and check the size guide for the range. Between the two, choose the smaller: the foam settles with use and headgear that is too big rotates on every shot. If your measurement falls outside the M-L range, take the model available up to XL.
Is this headgear allowed in competition?
No. Sanctioned amateur boxing bouts are fought in open face headgear: the cheek pads of a full coverage model are not allowed. This one is for training and sparring.
Do wrapped cheeks restrict your vision?
Frontal vision stays clear thanks to the oval opening. The pads do narrow low peripheral vision: that is the trade-off of full coverage, more protection against a little less downward field.
How do you look after PU leather headgear?
A damp cloth or an alcohol-free disinfectant wipe is enough, and no oily products: PU does not need feeding. Air dry, never on a radiator or shut inside a bag. The pale cheeks keep their crispness with a wipe after each session.
