Sting Like a Bee t-shirt

The essentials: the line is not a poetic flourish — it describes what Ali actually did: a heavyweight who moved like a lightweight, guard unusually low, slipping with the torso. Here it runs in giant capitals over five lines, with a photograph set inside the letters. Premium cotton 180 gsm in white, crew neck, heat transfer print. 7 sizes S to 4XL, €29, free shipping.
Here the line does not caption the photograph: it contains it.
The letters are cut out of the image of Ali. You read the quote at ten metres, you find the fighter at two.
The most quoted line in sport
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. There is nothing decorative about it: it describes what Ali did. A heavyweight who moved like a lightweight, guard unusually low, slipping with the torso rather than the arms — then a sudden right hand.
It came from Drew « Bundini » Brown, his cornerman, before the first Sonny Liston fight in 1964. Ali made it his own and it never left him. It is now the most quoted line in sport, anywhere.
What it looks like on
The text forms a vertical rectangular block centred on the chest, taller than it is wide, in very heavy capitals across five lines: FLOAT / LIKE A / BUTTERFLY / STING / LIKE A BEE. The words are packed tight against each other, with no wasted space.
Inside that block, a colour photograph of Ali shows through — you can make out the torso, the arms, and above all the white shorts marked ALI in red, falling exactly at the centre of the word STING. This is a type mask: the text cuts the image out.
Not every letter is treated the same way: some stay solid black, others let the photograph through. That alternation is what keeps the line readable while still showing the picture.
On a white ground the contrast is at its highest. The message reads instantly, even from a distance.
Premium cotton in white, crew neck, short sleeves, straight cut. Plain back.
The detail that matters: look at the word STING: the photograph running through the letters shows Ali's white shorts, marked with his name in red. It is the only strong colour in the whole artwork, and it lands exactly at the centre of the block.

Frequently asked questions
What does the quote actually mean?
It describes his style: a heavyweight who moved like a lightweight, guard unusually low, slipping with the torso rather than the arms, before landing a sudden right hand. It is a technical description, not a poetic image.
What is printed on it?
The full line in giant capitals over five lines — FLOAT / LIKE A / BUTTERFLY / STING / LIKE A BEE — as a vertical block centred on the chest, with a colour photograph of Ali showing through the letters.
What is a type mask?
A technique where the text cuts out the image: the photograph only appears inside the letters, as through a window. Here some letters stay solid black while others reveal the fighter in colour — including his white shorts marked ALI in red, at the heart of the word STING.
How does it differ from the Float Like a Butterfly tee?
Both use the same line, but the treatment is entirely different. Here the text is the artwork and the photograph sits inside it; on the Float Like a Butterfly model it is a poster, with the photograph at the centre and the quote as one line among several.
Which size should I take?
Standard European cut: take your usual size. Seven sizes, S to 4XL, with the chest running from about 96 cm / 38 in to 132 cm / 52 in.
