Black trunks, black boots, no socks
Mike Tyson's kit stayed as recognisable as his style. Plain black trunks, high black boots, no socks, no robe: he came to the ring in a white towel with a hole cut for his head, and no walkout music.
The choice came from Cus D'Amato, for whom nothing should draw attention away from the fight itself. That stripping back sits oddly with the way he is pictured today. This canvas takes the opposite line: flames, halos and burning letters around a figure that stays, itself, in a guard.
What you see
Tyson is framed to mid thigh on the centre panel, bare chested, black trunks, red gloves held low, eyes turned to the left. Orange flames rise from his forearms and spread across the four other panels.
The name is set in two parts: MIKE in pale capitals on the left panel, TYSON on the right, the letters edged with fire. The ground is a smoky dark turquoise crossed by gold filaments. From 3 m / 10 ft you see an orange and blue-green composition; from 1 m / 3 ft you read the name and pick out the glove laces.

How to hang a 5 panel canvas
The five panels go side by side: the image is continuous and reassembles in one piece. Put up the centrepanel first, its middle 145 cm / 57 in from the floor, then add the panels in pairs eitherside, checking the level at each pair. A paper template on the wall before drilling saves redoing the holes.
The width rule is the same as for a single canvas: the set covers about two thirds of the width ofthe furniture below it. The size chart by wall type gives the full size-to-placement table.
