Why kit is standardised in professional MMA
In boxing every fighter walks out in his own shorts, often embroidered with his name. In professional MMA it is the reverse: the kit is supplied and standardised by the organisation.
The reason is partly sporting. A short that has not been approved may carry seams, fastenings or pockets that catch a finger or a toe on the ground. Standardising removes that variable, and it removes any argument about what a fighter is allowed to wear into the cage.
What the shorts look like
Plain ground in seven colourways: blue, black, purple, green, light blue, orange and red. On each, a large circular logo fills the left thigh, with a second smaller logo on the waistband. The lower part runs to a textured gradient in a deeper tone.
The waistband is flat with a drawcord closure. Clean side slits. Sublimated print.
Seven colourways on one cut
Few models in the collection run past three colours. This one offers seven, from blue to orange, on an identical cut and an identical marking.
It is the model to look at if your club imposes a kit colour, or if you want two identical shorts in two shades to rotate. For the full detail of the fight short cut, see the grey geometric fight short.

Worth knowing: seven colourways on one cut is the widest colour choice in the MMA range. If a club or a corner requires a specific colour, this is where to look first.
Getting the size right
European cut — take your usual size. Eight sizes, XS to 4XL, where most of the market stops at XXL on a fight short. Seven colourways, one size grid: the fit does not change from one colour to the next. The drawcord takes up a change in waist measurement. In a groin guard, go one size up.

Frequently asked questions
Why is kit standardised in professional MMA?
Partly for safety: an unapproved short can carry seams, fastenings or pockets that catch a finger or a toe on the ground. Standardising removes that variable, and it removes any argument about what may be worn into the cage. Boxing does the opposite — every fighter brings his own.
What is the difference between MMA shorts and boxing shorts?
An MMA short is built for the ground as well as the feet. It runs longer, to just above the knee, with a side slit on each leg so a closed guard and a leg pass do not bind the hip, and a flat drawcord waistband that stays tied when an opponent pulls on it. Boxing shorts have none of that.
Do these fit true to size?
Yes. European cut — take your usual size. Eight sizes run XS to 4XL. The drawcord takes up a change in waist measurement. If you train in a groin guard, go one size up.
Does the print wear off in the wash?
No. The design is sublimated into the fibre rather than laid on top of it, so there is no layer to crack or peel on the mat. Wash inside out at 30 °C / 86 °F and skip the fabric softener.
Do these come in big and tall sizes?
Yes, up to 4XL. Most of the market stops at XXL on a fight short.
How do you wash MMA shorts?
Machine wash inside out at 30 °C / 86 °F, no tumble dryer, and no iron on the design. Avoid fabric softener: it coats the weave and slows how fast sweat moves through it.
