Sliding boxing ring

Key facts: the sliding boxing ring has no post on the floor: its ropes travel up and down four wall-mounted profiles. Lowered, you box; raised, the floor is completely clear. Four sizes: 4×4, 5×5, 6×6 and 7×7 m / 13 ft 1 in to 23 ft outer footprint, giving 3×3, 4×4, 5×5 and 6×6 m fighting areas between the ropes — bespoke on request. Leatherette ropes, corner pads and rope spacers included, all customisable. 10-year structural warranty, standard delivery included. €3,990 to €5,490.
Four vertical profiles bolted to the walls, one at each corner, and nothing else on the floor: on this sliding ring the four sets of ropes travel up and down those guides, made by our own workshop. Going from training position to raised position takes seconds, with nothing to dismantle.
It is the answer for gyms that share their floor between disciplines: drop the ring for boxing, raise it to hand the floor back to the next class. Nothing is left on the floor between sessions, and nothing has to be stored.
Why choose a sliding ring?
The ropes rise to the top of the profiles and the floor area becomes fully available again: no post, no frame, nothing to put away. No assembly, no dismantling, seconds either way.
Two other layouts lean on walls or fold away: the wall-mounted ring takes a corner with a single floor post and stays up permanently, and the folding ring folds down to 50 cm / 19.7 in of width against a wall, with no fixings at all.
- Slides in seconds, with nothing to dismantle.
- 4 wall guides designed and built by Esprit Boxe.
- No post on the floor, so the surface can be fully released.
- Built for multi-purpose halls and shared spaces.
How does the sliding system work?
The ring runs on 4 wall guides. The ropes and their frame slide vertically along those profiles:
- Low position: ropes at training height, corner pads in place, ready to box.
- High position: the four sets of ropes rise to the top of the profiles and the floor is completely clear.
Moving between the two takes seconds, so the hall can be reconfigured at will, several times a day if needed.
Sizes available
Four standard outer sizes:
- 4 × 4 m / 13 ft 1 in ring — 3 × 3 m / 9 ft 10 in fighting area between the ropes.
- 5 × 5 m / 16 ft 5 in ring — 4 × 4 m / 13 ft 1 in fighting area between the ropes.
- 6 × 6 m / 19 ft 8 in ring — 5 × 5 m / 16 ft 5 in fighting area between the ropes.
- 7 × 7 m / 23 ft ring — 6 × 6 m / 19 ft 8 in fighting area between the ropes.
- Larger or bespoke sizes on request at info@esprit-boxe.com.
The size quoted is the outer footprint of the ring. The fighting area between the ropes is set back 50 cm / 19.7 in on each side, so 1 m / 3 ft 3 in less than the quoted footprint. Fitting calls for walls suited to taking the guides: our team advises you on your own layout.
What floor space and what walls do you need?
Allow the footprint of the size you pick — 4 × 4 m to 7 × 7 m — plus 1 m / 3 ft 3 in of clearance on each accessible side: a 6 × 6 m ring needs 8 × 8 m / 26 ft 3 in square of free floor in the low position. In the high position the floor becomes fully usable again. All four corners must be formed by load-bearing walls able to take a through-anchor — concrete, solid blockwork or solid brick — over the full height of the profiles. Our team signs off the substrate with you before production.

Production time and delivery
Every ring is made to order. Production and customisation take 2 to 3 weeks from sign-off on the design, colours and ring drawing. Delivery follows within 6 to 8 weeks, by lorry: the site must be accessible to heavy goods vehicles. The wall guides are fitted by the customer, with the instructions and assembly drawing supplied. Once fitted, the ring slides in seconds.
Warranty
The structure is guaranteed for 10 years, under normal use of the ring.
Sliding, wall-mounted or folding?
The sliding ring rises against the wall and frees the floor in seconds, which is the quickest way to turn a multi-purpose hall over to another class. The wall-mounted ring is a compact corner ring that stays up, and the folding ring folds away for storage.
For a ring standing on the floor, see the fixed floor ring or the demountable floor ring. For a raised ring, the raised ring.
Frequently asked questions
What is a sliding boxing ring?
A ring running on 4 wall guides, whose ropes slide along profiles fixed to the walls. Lowered, it works as a boxing ring; raised, it frees the floor completely. Seconds either way, with nothing to dismantle.
Do I need load-bearing walls?
Yes: the four corners must be formed by load-bearing walls able to take a through-anchor over the full height of the profiles — concrete, solid blockwork or solid brick. Our team checks the substrate with you before production.
How long does it take to free up the floor?
Seconds. The ropes are raised along their guides and the floor is available straight away, with no assembly or dismantling and nothing to store.
What size ring should I choose?
4 × 4 m / 13 ft 1 in for beginners and tight spaces, 5 × 5 m and 6 × 6 m for club training and sparring, 7 × 7 m / 23 ft for competition formats. The area between the ropes is set back 50 cm / 19.7 in on each side.
Can it be branded with our club colours?
Yes, and it is included. You choose the leatherette colour and design for the ropes, turnbuckles and rope spacers, and the colour of the four corner pads.
Are delivery and fitting included?
Standard delivery is included and goes by lorry, so the site must be accessible to heavy goods vehicles. The wall guides are fitted by the customer, with the instructions and assembly drawing supplied.
