The film nobody wanted to make this way
At the 1977 Academy Awards, Rocky took Best Picture, Best Director and Best Editing. Sylvester Stallone was nominated as both actor and screenwriter — a double only two men had managed before him.
What makes it worth telling is where it started: the studios wanted to buy the script and hand the part to an established name. Stallone, unknown and broke, said no — and lived with a stripped-back budget and a shoot wrapped in under a month.
The worn lettering printed across the back comes from that. Nothing about the film ever looked new.

Back: the same word in very large serif capitals with a worn texture, centred between the shoulder blades. Single-colour print, black or white depending on the shade.
