An image out of a fight that lasted a minute
The rematch between Muhammad Ali and Sonny Liston, on 25 May 1965 in Lewiston, Maine, lasted under two minutes. Liston went down to a punch half the room never saw, long known as the phantom punch.
Ali refused to go to a neutral corner. He stood over his opponent, arm down, shouting at him to get up. The photographer Neil Leifer shot the frame at that instant, from directly above the ring, and it became the most reproduced image the sport has.
The artwork
The print sits on the back, set vertically. The Greatest in a handwritten script at the top, then MUHAMMAD in capitals laid in an arc.
At the centre, the cut-out photograph: the boxer standing with both arms down, mouth open, over his opponent flat on the canvas. The frame is black and white and only the gloves are coloured red — the single colour on the garment. ALI closes the composition in large capitals. The front is left plain.
The garment
Full-length zip, hood, side pockets, ribbed cuffs and hem. The zip lets you put it on and take it off without going over your head.

Frequently asked questions
Which photograph is reproduced on this hoodie?
The frame Neil Leifer shot in Lewiston on 25 May 1965: Ali standing over Sonny Liston, shouting at him to get up. It is the most reproduced image in boxing.
What was the phantom punch?
The short right that put Liston down in the first round, which half the arena never saw. The count was lost and the fight was stopped under two minutes in.
What does The Greatest mean?
Ali's own claim about himself, made before he had the title and repeated for fifty years. It is set here in script above the arc of his name.
Is the print on the front or the back?
On the back, which carries the full design. The front is left plain.
What size should I take?
European cut — take your usual size, with no Asian sizing to convert. Six sizes from S to XXXL, all at the same price. Over training kit, go up one.
How do I care for the print?
Machine wash at 30 °C / 86 °F inside out, no tumble dryer, and never run an iron over the print. Heat transfer film holds for years on that routine and gives way to heat, not to washing.
