The swivel decides the rebound
The quality of the rebound is often credited to the bag. It comes first from the swivel. This one pairs a round screw-on plate — under a wooden top or straight to the ceiling — with a ball-bearing shaft topped by an articulated U shackle that takes the loop of the bag. The bag then turns freely through 360° with no dead point: the rebound comes back on line instead of drifting off to the side.
Mounting
The plate screws onto a rigid support — a platform top, a beam, a concrete ceiling. Set the height so the belly of the bag sits between the mouth and the eyes in guard. Then inflate to a surface that is firm but still gives under the thumb. Check the plate is still tight after the first few sessions: that is when a new mounting settles.
