The essentials: a quote about ambition set in white capitals on the left, and Tyson photographed in colour on the right, a red glove against his cheek, over a dark grey ground where an older portrait shows through. Landscape format, 12 sizes from 13 × 18 cm / 5 × 7 in to 110 × 160 cm / 43 × 63 in, 11 of them ready framed in wood. From €9 to €109 depending on size, free standard shipping.
The man who taught him to dream
In 1980 a 13 year old held at a juvenile centre in Johnstown was taken to a boxing gym in Catskill, New York. The trainer, Cus D'Amato, was 72 and had already taken two fighters to world titles. After three rounds he told the boy he would be heavyweight champion of the world.
D'Amato became his legal guardian, moved him into his house and taught him visualisation alongside technique: see yourself win before you walk to the ring, work with fear rather than deny it. He died of pneumonia on 4 November 1985, a year and eighteen days before the title he had predicted. The line printed here — about grabbing a handful of clouds if you miss the star — comes out of that schooling.
What you see
Landscape format, charcoal grey ground. The text fills the left half, in white capitals across five lines, several words in bold, with the attribution below. The right half shows Tyson photographed in colour, framed to mid-torso, in a sleeveless grey hoodie, a red glove with a white wrap held against his cheek, the face tattoo clearly visible, looking straight to camera.
Behind the text, a second portrait in black and white, older and faded into the ground, shows the fighter bare chested. From 3 m / 10 ft you read a block of text and a face; from 1 m / 3 ft the second portrait separates from the background.

Worth knowing: the two portraits show the same man thirty years apart, which is what makes this the Tyson canvas that works best in an office, where a line gets read more than once. From 50 × 70 cm / 20 × 28 in the five lines read from an armchair.
A composition in two halves
Text on the left, portrait on the right: both halves have to stay legible, which sets a floor. Below 40 × 60 cm / 16 × 24 in the five lines turn into texture; from 70 × 100 cm / 28 × 39 in the face tattoo reads from a sofa. The size chart by wall type covers the other placements room by room.

Frequently asked questions
What does the quote on this canvas say?
I'm a dreamer. I have to dream and reach for the stars, and if I miss a star then I grab a handful of clouds — five lines of white capitals, attributed to Mike Tyson below.
Who was Mike Tyson's trainer?
Cus D'Amato, who took him in at 13 at his gym in Catskill, New York, and became his legal guardian. D'Amato died on 4 November 1985, a year and eighteen days before Tyson won the title he had predicted for him.
What size canvas should I hang above a sofa?
The working rule is about two thirds of the width of the furniture below it, centred 145 cm / 57 in from the floor. Over a 200 cm / 79 in three-seater, that means 80 × 120 cm / 31 × 47 in; over a two-seater, 60 × 90 cm / 24 × 35 in; in a hallway, 30 × 45 cm / 12 × 18 in. The full size chart by wall type is on the Ali vs Liston 1965 page.
How many portraits are on this canvas?
Two. On the right, a colour portrait of the later Tyson in a hoodie with a red glove against his cheek. Behind the text, a second portrait in black and white, bare chested, faded into the grey — the fighter of the title years.
Is the frame included?
On 11 of the 12 sizes, yes: the ready framed option ships the canvas stretched on its wooden frame. Only 20 × 30 cm / 8 × 12 in ships rolled in a tube; for that one, frames are sold separately: wooden frame up to 100 cm / 39 in per side, XXL wooden frame from 110 to 200 cm / 43 to 79 in, or aluminium frame in 8 finishes.
How do I clean a canvas print?
A dry microfibre cloth handles almost everything. For a mark that stays, use a barely damp cloth with no detergent, wiping across the surface. No abrasive sponge, no glass cleaner.
