A green giant from 1962 against a champion from 1986
Hulk first appeared in May 1962, in the opening issue of his own series, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The rule is well known: the angrier he gets, the stronger he becomes — strength with no ceiling.
Which is exactly what makes the match-up interesting from a boxing point of view. Heavyweight is the only division with no upper weight limit; every other class is bounded at both ends. Tyson, 1.78 m / 5 ft 10 in and around 98 kg / 216 lb on the night he won the title, really did share a division with men like Nikolai Valuev at 2.13 m / 7 ft and close to 150 kg / 331 lb. Nothing in the rules guarantees a fair match; only entry speed answers mass. This canvas takes the principle to its limit and gives the smaller man the punch.
What you see
Landscape format, comic book line. On the left, Hulk: bare chested, green skin, black hair, head thrown back by the impact, hands open. On the right, Mike Tyson in light trunks, bare chested, arm fully extended, his fist reaching the giant's face — and that fist is bare, with no glove. His other hand, in a red glove, hangs low at his side.
The ground is a sheet of vertical drips — green, red, blue, yellow, pink — running down from the top of the frame like wet paint and spilling over both bodies. From 3 m / 10 ft you read a punch landing; from 1 m / 3 ft the two faces come through in detail.

Worth knowing: the landscape crop and the comic line make this one of the few canvases in the collection that suits a child's room as readily as the wall above a sofa. Over a three-seater, 100 × 150 cm / 39 × 59 in covers two thirds of the width. Frames are sold separately: wooden frame up to 100 cm / 39 in per side, XXL wooden frame from 110 to 200 cm / 43 to 79 in, or aluminium frame in 8 finishes.
A horizontal duel reads across the width
The two figures share the width of the frame, so shrinking the canvas shrinks both faces at once. Allow 60 × 90 cm / 24 × 35 in for a bedroom and 100 × 150 cm / 39 × 59 in over a three-seater. The size chart by wall type covers the other placements room by room.

Frequently asked questions
Who is fighting who on this canvas?
Mike Tyson and Hulk, the character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in May 1962. The boxer is on the right, arm extended, bare fist to the green giant's face; his other glove, in red, stays low. The scene is the illustrator's invention, not a reconstruction of anything.
What size canvas should I hang above a sofa?
The working rule is about two thirds of the width of the furniture below it, centred 145 cm / 57 in from the floor. Over a 200 cm / 79 in three-seater, that means 80 × 120 cm / 31 × 47 in; over a two-seater, 60 × 90 cm / 24 × 35 in; in a hallway, 30 × 45 cm / 12 × 18 in. The full size chart by wall type is on the Ali vs Liston 1965 page.
Is there a weight limit in the heavyweight division?
No upper limit — heavyweight is the only division bounded on one side only. In practice that has put men of 98 kg / 216 lb in with men of 150 kg / 331 lb in the same championship class.
Is this canvas landscape?
Yes, landscape on all eleven sizes, from 13 × 18 cm / 5 × 7 in to 110 × 160 cm / 43 × 63 in, always wider than it is tall.
Does the canvas come with a frame?
No, the canvas ships on its own, rolled in a protective tube. Frames are sold separately: wooden frame up to 100 cm / 39 in per side, XXL wooden frame from 110 to 200 cm / 43 to 79 in, or aluminium frame in 8 finishes. The wooden kits are 2.5 cm / 1 in thick and come with instructions.
How do I clean a canvas print?
A dry microfibre cloth handles almost everything. For a mark that stays, use a barely damp cloth with no detergent, wiping across the surface. No abrasive sponge, no glass cleaner.
