Six foot nine, and a three year absence
In November 2015, in Düsseldorf, the Briton Tyson Fury beat Wladimir Klitschko on points and ended eleven years of rule. Then he disappeared: close to three years without fighting, a weight gain he has put at more than 50 kg / 110 lb, and the belts given up.
He came back in 2018 and met Deontay Wilder on 1 December 2018 in Los Angeles. In the twelfth round a right hook put him down and he rose at nine — an image that became the symbol of his career. The fight ended in a draw. He won the rematch in February 2020. At 2.06 m / 6 ft 9 in, he is one of the tallest champions the heavyweight division has had.
What you see
Portrait format, painted in broad strokes. The face fills the upper half, three quarters on, a gold crown set on the head and his nickname Gypsy King in large red capitals on the right.
Lower centre, a full length figure of the same boxer, bare chested, a WBC championship belt over his shoulder and the same nickname readable on the waistband of his shorts. The ground mixes red, deep blue, gold and white, with runs and spatter spilling over both figures. From 3 m / 10 ft you read a crowned face; from 1 m / 3 ft the second figure and the belt appear.

Worth knowing: two levels of reading on one canvas — a face from a distance, a second scene up close. From 60 × 90 cm / 24 × 35 in the lower figure and the belt read from a sofa. Frames are sold separately: wooden frame up to 100 cm / 39 in per side, XXL wooden frame from 110 to 200 cm / 43 to 79 in, or aluminium frame in 8 finishes.
Two figures and a nickname set large
The crowned face and the red lettering carry at five metres whatever the size. It is the second figure at the bottom, with its belt, that needs surface: it separates from 60 × 90 cm / 24 × 35 in and gives up the detail of the plate at 90 × 130 cm / 35 × 51 in. The size chart by wall type covers the other placements room by room.

Frequently asked questions
Who is Tyson Fury?
A British heavyweight born in 1988, 2.06 m / 6 ft 9 in tall, who beat Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015, took nearly three years away from the ring, and came back to draw with and then beat Deontay Wilder.
Does this canvas show Mike Tyson?
No. It is Tyson Fury, whose first name was given in reference to Mike Tyson, champion at the time he was born. The nickname Gypsy King painted on the canvas settles it: it belongs to him alone.
What size canvas should I hang above a sofa?
The working rule is about two thirds of the width of the furniture below it, centred 145 cm / 57 in from the floor. Over a 200 cm / 79 in three-seater, that means 80 × 120 cm / 31 × 47 in; over a two-seater, 60 × 90 cm / 24 × 35 in; in a hallway, 30 × 45 cm / 12 × 18 in. The full size chart by wall type is on the Ali vs Liston 1965 page.
How many figures are on this canvas?
Two of the same boxer: the crowned face across the upper half, and a full length figure with a belt over his shoulder at the lower centre. The second reads from 60 × 90 cm / 24 × 35 in.
Does the canvas come with a frame?
No, the canvas ships on its own, rolled in a protective tube. Frames are sold separately: wooden frame up to 100 cm / 39 in per side, XXL wooden frame from 110 to 200 cm / 43 to 79 in, or aluminium frame in 8 finishes. The wooden kits are 2.5 cm / 1 in thick and come with instructions.
How do I clean a canvas print?
A dry microfibre cloth handles almost everything. For a mark that stays, use a barely damp cloth with no detergent, wiping across the surface. No abrasive sponge, no glass cleaner.
