Three letters that replaced a name
Ultimate Fighting Championship was originally the name of an event, not of an organisation: the night of 12 November 1993 was meant to settle which martial art won with no weight classes involved.
The full name gave way to the three letters almost immediately — which is exactly what this design does: it sets the mark large and puts the whole name back in small type underneath, like a footnote.
