What the first event set out to prove
The Ultimate Fighting Championship began on 12 November 1993 in Denver, Colorado. The aim was not to create a sport: it was to answer a question — which martial art wins if you put them against each other with no weight classes and almost no rules?
The winner that night, a 79 kg / 174 lb Brazilian named Royce Gracie, won three fights in one evening against far heavier men, and the answer turned out to be ground fighting. The sport was built afterwards, around weight classes and a rule set.
The artwork
UFC in three wide white capitals, slanted slightly to the right, printed on their own across the chest.
No full name, no strapline, no figure: the mark takes the whole space. White is the only print colour and black the only ground — maximum contrast for a mark that has to read at a distance. Plain back.
The garment
Lined hood with a drawcord, kangaroo pocket, ribbed cuffs and hem. Straight cut, set-in long sleeves.

Frequently asked questions
What does UFC stand for?
Ultimate Fighting Championship, the mixed martial arts promotion founded in the United States in 1993.
Who won the first UFC tournament?
Royce Gracie, a Brazilian weighing 79 kg / 174 lb, who won three fights in one night on 12 November 1993 against much heavier opponents.
What is the difference between the UFC and MMA?
MMA is the sport; the UFC is a promotion that organises it — the largest one, but not the only one.
Is MMA legal in France?
Yes. Professional MMA has been officially recognised in France since 2020, under the French Boxing Federation, after years without a legal framework.
What size should I take?
European cut — take your usual size, with no Asian sizing to convert. Six sizes from S to XXXL, all at the same price. Over training kit, go up one.
How do I care for the print?
Machine wash at 30 °C / 86 °F inside out, no tumble dryer, and never run an iron over the print. Heat transfer film holds for years on that routine and gives way to heat, not to washing.
