The gesture before the fight, not during it
Two gloves touching fist to fist is not an image of confrontation: it is a salute. The referee calls for it before the first round and, under most rules, at the start of the last round. It is also how a boxer apologises for a foul during a bout.
There is nothing ceremonial about it. Touching gloves obliges both men to drop their guard at the same moment, under the referee's control, and stands as a commitment to fight to the rules. Refusing the salute before a fight is read as a declaration of hostility, and the press treats it as an event every time. This canvas freezes the gesture, not the exchange that follows.
What you see
Landscape format. Two bare forearms enter the frame from the left and the right, gloved in dark red with a white trim, and meet exactly at the centre. At the point of contact, a burst of white and orange sparks throws upwards and lights both gloves from below.
The ground is a sky of grey and ochre cloud, dark at the edges and bright at the centre. No face, no text. From 3 m / 10 ft you read a point of light between two gloves; from 1 m / 3 ft each spark separates.

A centred composition that wants width
The two forearms enter from opposite edges: the composition loses its balance if one side is masked by furniture. Plan a clear span and a squarely centred hang — 80 × 120 cm / 31 × 47 in over a two-seater, 100 × 150 cm / 39 × 59 in over a three-seater.
