What the plate carries
The centre plate is not just gold: it is ringed with a crown of flags, those of the national federations affiliated to the World Boxing Council. In the middle, a raised boxer, WORLD CHAMPION curved above and WBC in black capitals.
That detail is what makes the green belt recognisable across a room, before the letters can be read at all.
The belt
Real bright green leather, 3 mm thick, visible stitching, oval centre plate in a gold finish and four gold-rimmed side medallions, two a side. Adjustable fastening at the back.
What a photograph will not tell you is the weight. At around 2.7 kg / 6 lb the belt is carried on the shoulder rather than at arm's length, and on a wall it needs a fixing into something solid, not a nail in plasterboard. Laid out, it runs 127 cm / 50 in: above a standard sofa it covers roughly two thirds of the width.
