The Ring magazine belt
- Regular price€159,00

The essentials: the plate on The Ring belt carries an engraved line ending in "won by" followed by the champion's name. It is the only belt here whose central text is fully personalised: name, weight class, year. Strap made of pleated satin ribbon in red, white, blue and gold, gold plate with eagle and chains. 127 cm / 50 in. €159, free shipping.
A plate that carries a name, not an acronym
Founded in 1922 by Nat Fleischer, The Ring magazine awards its own belt to the recognised champion of a weight class. What sets it apart is the engraving: the plate reads Magazine Award — World Championship — won by, then the boxer's name.
A sanctioning body's belt names an organisation; this one names a person. That is what makes it a personal award piece.
The belt
Strap built from layered pleated satin ribbon — red, white, blue and gold — rather than solid leather. Gold shield-shaped centre plate topped by an eagle with open wings, framed by fine chains and scrollwork, with The Ring logo in red above the engraved field. Either side, two gold shields.
What the photograph will not tell you: the strap is soft and light next to 3 mm leather. It drapes over a shoulder rather than holding its shape, and in a cabinet it wants a stand or a hanger rather than lying flat, or the satin pleats flatten out. 127 cm / 50 in long.

Buying tip: for the engraving, stay with the original layout — weight class on one line, won by on the next, name on the last. Longer text shrinks the characters and the engraved field stops reading at 1 m / 3 ft. Send the exact wording to info@esprit-boxe.com and artwork comes back before production.
A club award in the member's name
That is what sets this model apart: a belt carrying an engraved name rather than a governing body's letters. For a club champion, a retirement or a regional title, the plate does the job of a trophy plaque — except that it goes over a shoulder and photographs well. The satin ribbon, lighter than leather, suits a presentation in front of a crowd.

Frequently asked questions
Can a name be engraved on this belt?
Yes, that is the point of the model: the central field carries the weight class, the words won by and the champion's name. Send the exact wording to info@esprit-boxe.com and artwork is approved before production.
What is The Ring belt?
The belt awarded by The Ring magazine, founded in 1922 by Nat Fleischer, to the recognised champion of a weight class. Its plate names the boxer instead of showing a sanctioning body's letters.
What is the strap made of?
Layered pleated satin ribbon in red, white, blue and gold, rather than solid leather, so it is softer and lighter than a sanctioning body belt.
How long is it?
127 cm / 50 in, the size of a real world championship belt.
How should it be displayed?
On a stand or a hanger rather than flat: the satin pleats keep their volume when they are not pressed down. A horizontal bar is enough in a cabinet.
Does it work as a club award?
Yes, that is its main use here: a named award that goes over the shoulder for the presentation photograph, where a standard trophy stays on the table.
